The movement Cittaslow has been founded with the aim to follow common objectives,
corresponding to a certain code of behaviour which can be verified, and with values which are inspired
by the hospitality’s quality, the services, the urban infrastructure, the environment and the good eating.
The recognition Citta slow means good living, quality of life for a municipality.
“Good living” means that a municipality allows its citizens to enjoy in a
simple and relishable way the own town.
The “good living” meant as “quality of life” should not be lived as elite phenomenon,
but it has to be proposed and distributed as cultural event connected to the citizen’s (client) necessities.
Quality, as by definition of the international norm ISO 8402, is “the sum of the performances and characteristics
of a product or service which indicate the product’s capacities in order to satisfy the declared and implicit requirements."
“Quality” is the result of various strategic choices effectuated by the management of the Municipalities’ Administrations
in order to define for and to guarantee to the citizen-client an excellent service.
A quality service does not only get projected, produced and distributed,
but it is this service’s daily perception by the citizen-client.
In the Cittaslow towns the quality is strictly connected to the private and public operators’
contribute and individual engagement. It is absolutely necessary that every individual, in a double-role of citizen-client and supplier
of services, participates actively to a global process of improvement.
